Halloween 2007
George and Simon hosted Halloween 2007, and did so splendidly. I done the Shaun of the Dead pumpkin I did. I were dead proud.

Fireplace
Zoë decided to mosaic the fireplace. This involved making a box, smashing tiles, drinking red wine, and watching heroes.

Zoë's Birthday 2007
A couple of days in London staying at the splendid Hoxton, seeing the Terracotta Army and doing the touristy thang...

Dinbych y Pysgod 2007
The annual trip to Tenby was this year invaded by Mancs. They brought the rain on the Thursday, but luckily Nack brought the sunshine on the Friday. Much drinking and beach exploring and general frivolity was had by all.

ITMA
Now, what I thought I was going to do at this point was congratulate Prandial for winning the Blooker fiction prize and point out how I told you all how good it was 3 years ago. But apparently I didn't really. But I thought it. I thought it really, really hard. And I made the first comment. So I'm taking the kudos regardless. Yay me.

Bark @ SKone
Firstly, last month's Heat One. The Words were unhesitatingly our vote, though they went through on the judge's vote. The audience vote winners All the Kings Men were OK, but it's Jesus in India who should be aggrieved at not getting through.
Last night's Heat Two started with the council estate pop of Wythenshawe's FMF. A great front man with good lyrics, but the band definitely weren't gelling on the night. It wasn't in the least surprising when Bobbie Peru won the audience vote, they certainly got ours. Go and see them at the Little Civic on May 28th Wolverhamptonites! We would have much preferred to see second place go to the second ginger of the night (not counting Zoe), Republic of Struan. But the judge's vote went to Daisy Goes Green. He can't get it right every time.
Looking forward to Heat 3, and of course to Pris's gig at late room in July.
In other news, we're in The Guardian. We wrote... most of it. The essence of it you might say. I have no shame.

Bark @ SK1
A top night last night at Bark in SKone, that I am paying for with an unscheduled holiday today (sorry boss). Gokarnas were fantastic and the find of the night for me, Red on Black were unbelievably talented and brilliant, and Five Ounces of Pigeon were loopy and hysterical in a Bonzo Dog stylee. Massively disappointed The Naughtys chose not to come, but we'll get a chance to see them one day I'm sure. Anyway, we'll be back for more Bark when there is one I'm sure.

Storm Damage
At around 1.00pm, whilst we were in Poynton, our house had a close call. The first photo was taken in March 2005, the second was taken today
Spot the difference. Our neighbour was in and says the tree and lamp post landed just at the edge of our garden walls. It's dark now, and it's strange not to have the familiar glow of the lamppost outside, especially as without we can't see whether any closer trees are about to fall...

Nic Bebbington's Leaving Do
Nic is leaving for a new life in Dublin. Since it was Nic, the leaving do was inevitably in Beluga's of Bramhall, the scene of so many 10 hours lunches for the personnel dept over the years.

New Years 2006 - a photoset on Flickr
New Years 2006
Nack took the opportunity of his recent snowboarding holiday offered him to finish sending the Italy postcards and send some new ones from France. I'll get round to scanning them soon I'm sure.
